EXTREME WINE
These unique, full-immersion, wine bootcamps are lead by Clive Barlow MW. Together with Nicole, Clive developed the Chêne Bleu Extreme Wine Programme and is now the lead educator. The first course was delivered in 2007: “It takes the novice or the experienced wine lover on an intense voyage of discovery of the world of wine. It is a week of vinous exploration and understanding.” - Clive Barlow
The courses combine the rigorous theory and systematic approach of the WSET Level 2 Award (Extreme Wine) & Level 3 Award (Beyond Extreme), as well as the proprietary Chêne Bleu Extreme Wine Certification, including hands-on practice in the vineyard and the winery. This combination of theory and practice aims to create a real understanding of the difference between good wine and great wine - from the soil to the vine to the winery to the bottle to the glass to the nose and palate! (If you already have the WSET Level 2 certification you can go ‘Beyond Extreme’ with the WSET Level 3 course.)
For comprehensive information on these courses, and to book a place, please visit our dedicated Chêne Bleu Extreme Wine site. (By arrangement we also offer ‘Extreme Wine Pro’ for Sommeliers and the wine trade - please contact us.)
