New Years' Vigneron Fest - January 2009

“Do you want to be a Vignonaire”We filled the Salle des Voutes at La Verrière with seasonal branches, a roaring fire and holiday cheer, and fended off the biting winter wind with wine party games: Philippe Cambie met with some stiff competition from Germain Giraud, charming partner of the beautiful and dynamic Isabelle Ferrando, for a heated round of Wine Pictionary; clever Hervé Bizeul and brilliant Michel Bettane battled it out with sharp Fabrice Delorme for supremacy at Wine Trival Pursuit and Bénédicte had us in stitches with her Wine Charades. Then down to serious business as we tucked into a leg of wild boar, which we washed down with some seriously good wines from these serious winemakers. What a good way to usher in the new year.
