"Tree-bute" to Susie

October 21st would have been Susie's 80th bithday, so we saw it fit to plant a tree in her memory at La Verriere by the pond. We chose a Magnolia Grandiflora, whose bold bright flowers will burst open every spring and seemed right for her strong personality and big heart. Dear friends joined from Italy, Santa Barbara and London to share some warm and often funny recollections. She wouldn't have wanted it otherwise-- "nothing schmaltzy, please!"
