Chêne Bleu 2024 - Vintage Report

Summary

2024 will be remembered, by all means, as a difficult year in the Rhone Valley in general and at Chene Bleu in particular. It started with a somewhat dry end of the year 2023. Then the first 4 months of this year ended up being three times more humid than the previous years, making mechanical work in the vineyards a real challenge. In May, we registered two heavy rainfalls and then summer came around the corner. From June to August, weather conditions were almost perfect giving us the time to take care of our vineyards and prepare for an excellent harvest.

Unfortunately, in both September and October, unregular rainfalls complicated the harvest period that lasted from September 19th until October 10th. A strict grape selection still enabled us to produce beautiful juices that are now under vinification. Initial tastings let us hope of another excellent vintage.
