Our French Debut, at Christie's Paris

Popped over to Paris to present the wines for the hoidy toidy Cercle des Etas Majors, the prestigious group of top French business people, that meets four times a year in conjunction with big auctions at Christies.  The evening's guest of honor was Baudouin Prot, the Head of BNP.  The African Art sale provided an entertaining backdrop for the  wines!  To a certain extent, this was our French Debut, since we haven't really shown the wines in France, as we don't currently have a distributor.  I plan to work with the internet wine company 1855 (www.1855.com) for now. Everyone had managed my expectations about French interest in Chene Bleu, saying that we would be penalised for operating outside of the appellation at our pricepoints, so I was pleasantly surprised when we had a great response and a full house:  only a couple of grumblers, but it wouldn't have been Paris without them! Beautiful chesse patters the size of charriot wheels... Vive la France! Lots of takers for the Abelard and Roquefort pairing.  They know what they're doing, here.
